Built on Proven Learning Science
Why Memo?
There are 36 study apps out there. If a ChatGPT wrapper is all you need, any of them will do.
If you actually want to learn and retain what you study, you’ll need Memo. Every feature in Memo is built to align with how the human mind actually encodes and retrieves information. We pair AI-driven convenience with research-validated study methods so you’re always using the right tool for the job.
I used to only recite lecture slides before and failed to memorize them well (I would forget them after 1 day). But with flashcards in Memo, I can actively recall what I have learned every day and this boosts my understanding of each topic. It saves me 10 hours of study time every week.

Memo helps me summarize my lecture notes effectively, especially when studying extensive content about medications and their side effects. Previously, I would only review ppts once or twice before exams, and the information would quickly fade. With Memo, I can better retain lecture content and helps me get an "A range" on my test!

Duolingo For Computer Science
We built this “Duolingo for Any Subject” track to turn a whole course into bite-sized lessons you can master one at a time.
Your entire textbook or slide deck is broken into micro-lessons, each with a crisp teaching segment (encoding) followed by an instant recall exercise.
- 1
Upload any PDF, lecture, or set of notes.
Upload any lecture, textbook, or notes and Memo automatically analyzes the content, structure, and visuals.
- 2
Memo AI breaks it down into a personalized learning track.
Just like Duolingo, you’ll see clear sections and lessons — except instead of language units, they’re built from your actual study material.
- 3
Each lesson teaches you in a live call you have with a professor
Your AI professor reads your content out loud, flips through slides, explains diagrams, and walks you through each concept step-by-step.
- 4
At the end of every lesson, you get tested
Multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank, short answer, even long form questions — this is to reinforce and test your knowledge immediately after learning in order to practice active recall - an evidence-based learning principle.
Before using Memo, I primarily used note taking and past papers, but they are relatively hard to find online(university past papers especially MCQs). Moreover, they were time consuming which would waste a lot of time when I could just directly start drilling. It allowed me to conserve my time and enjoy other things in life, do not cram! Revise a bit each day with this app is way better than doing it all at once in a day!

Introducing the World's First AI Professor
We think everyone deserves a teacher 24/7. No need to tab around or prep materials — just hit play and vibe learn. It's built to feel like a real tutorial, not lonely self-study.
The common problem with current AI chatbots is they don't know your syllabus or care about what you've actually been assigned. Our AI Professor mode reads your PDFs and slides, flips pages as it speaks, and adapts every explanation to your material - then quizzes you immediately using active-recall techniques proven to boost retention.
Remember wishing you could raise your hand in class but freezing up? Here, you don't have to. Our AI Professor invites questions at any moment—no awkward pauses or judgment. Just type or speak your query, and watch it break down the answer in plain English (or any of 32+ languages).
We speak 32 languages really well. Understands and listens to 99 languages accurately.
Ask Memo To Create Cards, Make Connections & Explain Anything
The future of education is being AI-native. AI should be embedded directly into our learning tools to ensure full context of our learning style, knowledge and syllabus. So no more copy + pasting.
You can ask Memo to create flashcards, notes or mindmaps from specific topics, PDF pages or timestamps from YouTube → add and save them to your deck → review them directly in Memo all within 10 seconds. And keep in mind these chat histories, flashcards, notes & mindmaps are automatically saved across all devices so you can learn anywhere, anytime and on the go.
Memo copilot understands all of your sources, summaries and makes connections between topics and becomes a personalized AI expert in the information that matters most to you. Ground your information with clear citations of which page or timestamp the response came from to prevent hallucinations.
Create flashcards from any source with a single prompt. Memo automatically extracts key concepts, definitions, and examples to generate effective study materials tailored to your learning style. Each flashcard has a screenshot of where it came from automatically added.

Built & Designed by Tired Medical Students With a Child's Imagination
Born in the late-night grind of med-school study sessions, Memo is the brainchild of 2 sleep-deprived future doctors who refused to let boring slides win. Powered by our clinical rigor and a childlike spark for play, we built an AI tutor that makes even the densest textbook feel like a game. We believe real learning should be rooted in science but fueled by joy—so every feature is equal parts evidence-based and imaginative.

An open letter from our co-founder:
welcome to the age of AI-native learning
The greatest breakthroughs in human potential come when we remove the barriers to knowledge acquisition. Yet traditional learning methods remain stubbornly inefficient, fragmenting our attention across multiple tools and platforms.
Students today face unprecedented pressure. 80% of college seniors report experiencing burnout, while in places like Hong Kong, student mental health concerns have reached alarming levels, with 1.6% of secondary students attempting suicide in one academic year1.
The root issue? Students were never taught how to learn efficiently.
AI represents an unprecedented new way—not just to achieve that goal—but to redefine it. Our AI-first platform is built on a unified AI system with three major components designed to transform the learning experience for every student.
Content Processing extracts knowledge from any source, understanding text, diagrams, and relationships automatically. Copilot and DeepDive work together to create personalized study materials—whether through guided interactive refinement or comprehensive automated generation from entire documents. Study Modes implement evidence-based techniques from active recall to spaced repetition to the revolutionary Feynman approach.
All three learn from every study session to improve the system. That's what makes Memo the only complete AI-native learning platform. And we are determined to make Memo the best, and the only study platform you will ever need. Join me on this journey, and let's build something amazing together.
With love,
Jason
